Ya I made the fan fiction before the polls finished, I did it cus it was a fun idea and to cheer up Kayla >.> I never claimed to be perfect, but hey win or loose the poll the fan fiction will be up regardless.

A man stood over a heavy microscope and watched as he used it in order to do his task. It was one that you needed a microscope for, and was a very delicate procedure. Getting the fertilized egg out of the mountain lion was hard enough, but with every animals egg he tried so far they died early or never even grew. So far the project was looking very dim. If it was this hard on eggs, the project may never proceed any further! It depended on those eggs growing far enough and living long enough to be born. That was why he was also temporally working in public. He ‘fertilized’ women’s eggs supposedly using the procedure that could help women that couldn’t have babies but that was a lie to implant these eggs. Eggs and unborn infants are still developing, so with enough meddling, maybe they can be born as humans. That’s what the project is about. It had been annoying so far. He was starting to think the project was a complete failure. If this egg died like the others then he would give up. If it lived though then.. No force could stop him from going further.. But first an egg had to survive. This was the last of his funding, after hundreds of eggs this was the very last one. It depended on this one making it through the project for them to continue and get more funding again, and they would get more then before he was positive of it. The damn little egg.. It better survive!
“The farmer and his wife should be coming soon…”
The farmer and his wife did come. He implanted the tampered egg inside her then told her he would be the doctor if everything went smoothly. In his mind it had to. Miraculously it did. It went smoothly, and so did the pregnancy. His dark eyes seemed to fill with surprise and delight as every step somehow seemed to not just go well but even if it was a natural normal human baby it would still be amazingly well. He wasn’t born too late or too early. He was born an exact nine months after his mother got pregnant, not a single minuet off. It was amazing! And he was the first one to make it to being born! Yes he! A male that looked and was in all ways a human baby boy, perfectly healthy, more then just healthy but booming with energy. It was doctor Cain Zeryx’s greatest success in his entire career so far, his most successful project. Right when he thought the project would end.. This had to be a sign from the gods. He just knew the perfect name for him. He cleaned off the women’s baby, handing the exhausted women her infant. “May I suggest a name for your new lovely healthy baby boy Misses Aimie Ingolfsson and Mister Abbot Ingolfsson?”
The tired blond women clung to her baby, falling in love with them. “Of course, “ The brown haired father said, being handed the baby from his wife as now he held on to their new son. “If it wasn’t for you we wouldn’t have our wonderful new light. He is everything we could have asked for.” The tired women said with a smile, her blue eyes full of a tired but joyful expression. She looked so tired out and messy yet she couldn’t look more happy and beautiful. She was in utter bliss, what she thought she could never have was there in her arms.
“I suggest to name him after the Norse god of rain and fertility, Freyr. It means lord, yet sounds soft.. Much like the sun of such powerful yet soft people. He really is like a gentle young lord isn’t he?”
“Oh he is..” The women cooed, taking her baby from her husband. “I agree with her. That’s a wonderful name Doctor Zeryx.”
“Please.. Just call me Cian.”
Every tiny bit of information was all recorded on the infant. The success had poured in funding more then he even dreamed would have been put forth. He would be able to get better equipment, hire other doctors, more space… but first he would need to find doctors he knew where good enough. This was still important to him and he didn’t want to loose because some idiot fucked up. For now he would remain the only one. More would be later when things where more stable. He was positive now that the new born projects success would not go anywhere anytime soon besides to his new home with the humans tricked in to being the foster parents to a child who real parents where a mountain lion, not them. But now his fire had been reunited. The perfect possible success that could have happened for the project had and brought forth the best results it could. He would watch further as the project grew and use him to further the life rate, and have him be the building blocks to a new project in the future years from then.. When this one was finished.
So more time passed, the child quickly grew and learned. Faster then most infants did he learned to talk and walk. By the time he was two years old he could talk simple normal sentences and carry out simple conversations. So it seemed every time he gave the child a check up he would end up talking with him now too. Learning his personality and about the environment he lived in with his parents was also an important part of his growth, not just the DNA work done on him. The environment was idealistic. It was a farm that raised animals and grew crops without chemicals. It was old fashion and a novice would think that a horrible place for something so important but he was smarter then that. The food they produced and sold was bought by five star restaurants and people with a lot of money. The food was the best quality so the child would get the best possible foods to grow on. The connection also helped him get that very food for his own son Agriya. If he had asked they would have more then likely offered some for his younger son Khizr too but the idea just never popped in to his mind to care about what he was eating.
Not only did the food offer nourishment for the body and mind to grow but the farm area was away from the city. There was no pollution near to get in the boys system. Also his parents listened to classical music, which helped unborn and young children’s minds develop because they had no words, just beautiful sounds anyone of any age could learn how to comprehend. Then there was interacting with all the animals, watching and learning about animals and plants first hand and that was the best way to learn. Then there was all the books Freyr’s parents had for themselves and the ones they had for their child. With all the money they had they could afford to buy him things for him to learn from but had yet to spoil him. If he did something wrong instead of punishing him and making him feel bad they used positive reinforcement for what he did good to make him feel good about it and then that would cause him to want to do it more often. Watching that work so well with Freyr he started that approach with Agriya and it helped him immensely. His already wonderful son started learning and growing even faster then with the other approaches he had used. So the project helped him be a better father to at least one son.. But at the same time it just made the other feel more neglected, Khizr who didn’t get any such special treatment but seemed to start clinging dearly for his fathers eyes because.. He said such nice things to his brother but to him…
When Freyr was four it seemed he got to a level of inelegance of a second or third grader. No, he had just recently reached the skill level of a third grader. But there was a problem. After he reached it his growth seemed to almost stop. That was a week ago at his last check up when he had that level. This check up he had expected more of that amazing growth. He wasn’t happy about that at all, but freyr was a child, an innocent young one. If he just asked him then.. “Freyr why is it that you stopped yearning to learn so much as you had before?” The large soft brown eyes looked in the adults black ones, his tiny hands grabbing on to some of the gray and blond mixed hair, tugging it a little. “Hair never grows as just one strand does it? There are always a lot of them growing together. I’m my mother and fathers miracle child they say.. They wont ever have another child again. I‘m lonely. My mom and dad and all the other animals are nice but.. I want someone to talk to who is not a adult. Mom and dad said I was too young to start going to school though..” So that was it? He wanted a friend. That was simple enough to solve. “How would you like to visit my home and meet my son Agriya? He’s older then you but a child too. He’s very smart. We can ask your parents after your weekly checkup is done.” The childes eyes brightened up, looking up more at the adults eyes and releasing the hair from his tiny fingers grip. “Of course.” Little did the doctor know that things like all associated with Freyr sooner or later that things would go a lot more different then expected. But Freyr though may have had the body of a human but a felines soul and cats where unpredictable creatures at heart no matter how predictable they may seem.
His parents agreed, thinking it would be a good idea for a child as active as theirs to have a friend closer to his age. All kids want friends sooner or later after all besides their parents or animals. His time was just now no matter how oddly young it seemed. When children where at that age they where usually still very clingy to their parents and takes some taking use to, to be left alone with others besides them. But yet there we was sitting in the doctors car at the front seat. The large brown eyes watched outside the window as threes passed his vision by. A river? He pulled on the child seat he was in on top of the normal seat, trying to get to the window. He knew it was for his safety because he was so small but that didn’t mean he didn’t want to explore it. “I’ve never seen a river before!” It looked so pretty and luring. He wanted to see it closer. He wanted to meet the animals inside and find out what kind of personalities they have. “It passes near my home, we’re almost there.”
He stopped the car in front of his home. The doctor turned the car off before unfastening the child from his seat then getting out himself. In Cian’s mind it felt like everything was going wonderfully. The project, his son, and now he had a chance to have the two interact with each other. This was turning to be a good day. He had a feeling after the meeting things would start progressing again. Because of Freyr he had a small few other births successful. Different animals where being done. Cautions where being created. He was also starting to find out that even if you have the right information the procedures are still extremely risky. He would get the animal data he needed and then stop that step of the experiment. After that he would watch them grow and observe, the human embryos turned to animals and animal embryos to humans. “This way to meet Agriya, little Freyr. He is eleven years old.” Freyr hopped out of the car then ran over to the doctor. His curiosity had him catch his eyes on something though. It was a kid that didn’t look too much taller then him. They had long green loose hair. They were just sitting in the grass alone, watching the doctor.
So Cian continued to the house while Freyr wondered away to the other little boy. It didn’t take long to walk over to him. He wasn’t a big distance away. He could see the other boys soft dark eyes watching him walk over. It made the golden haired boy more curious about them. That and.. They looked so alone. Why did they look alone? He didn’t like that. It reminded him of something, a feeling he had been having himself but only just recently figured out. A frustrating feeling that made him feel lonely and yearn for others his own age, or near it. To find out if he was the only one with this feeling. His parents didn’t have it, or the doctor. Nobody understood it, or that part of him. He didn’t even understand that part of himself. His big baggy boots stopped in front of the small spread out pair of legs that belonged to the other kid. “Why do you look so alone? Are you like me?” He asked curiously before sitting down between the older little boys legs innocently. “Like.. There’s something missing and you can’t get it?” It looked as if the other boys eyes had lit up.
The old doctors eyes lit up in shock as he herd the soft young voice speaking to someone. It couldn’t be Agriya, a pathetic expression like that could only belong to one child. The last one he wanted an important project to talk to. No! Something like Khizr would ruin him! Before Khizr could come from the shock or Freyr could do anything the strong old man ran over there and grabbed up Freyr by the shirt. He had scooped him up as if the child had just stepped on contaminated ground and the man was getting him away from it. Yes, far from it. He ran in to the house, leaving Khizr alone with his thoughts, to let events sink in, and the emotional pain his father had just inflicted upon him.
He dropped in in to a clean room. It had books, a lot. Then there was a bed. On the bed was someone that still looked young, but older then the other kid in the front yard. They had long blond hair, a pale blond, much different then his rich darkened golden shade of blond hair. Their eyes were black but cold, mean, and uninviting. In Freyr’s mind he had already decided. And yet the doctor had no idea the cat attitude was about to soon come out. “Freyr This is my son Agriya, Agriya this is Freyr. Why don‘t you both talk? You are both amazingly talented for your ages. I‘m very proud of my son though.”
“What about the kid that was in the front of the house in the grass? What was his name? he’s your son too right?”
“Khizr, but he’s not as knowledgeable and great as my older son Agriya.“
That’s when the other child but in and added his two cents.
“That’s right, I know things far more advanced then Khizr can begin to comprehend. If you talk to him he will just rot your brain away with his stupidity. It might be interesting to have someone so young around, as long as you’re a little genius like father said.”
Freyr frowned. Did they really think that way? No, that was wrong.
“How much of the basics do you study?”
“None, I’ve passed them and moved on. I don’t need them, they are useless.”
“Wrong! it’s the basics that build everything else! I thought you where suppose to be older and smarter. Read it in books or even ask your dad. Every detail is important, and every complex creation is multiple small basics put together. Its mastering the basics that makes you smart not memorizing the things they can become. How can you judge your own brother that way when you can‘t even outsmart a four year old? I don‘t think he’s the stupid one.”
Now the blond boy looked infuriated.
“The basics are useless!”
But Cian.. He didn’t agree with his son but rather.. Looked in amazement at what happened. Freyr was right. Somehow he had reminded the father about how important the basics where, how they were what created everything.
“Mastering the basics you can do more then learn complicated problems already there, you can create your own complex problems. It applies to many many things.. “
He had half mumbled it from shock. Freyr may have had a lower grade level of learning then Agriya but it was becoming obvious to him that sometimes people needed an intellectual instinct. Freyr Excelled by waking his own up a long time ago and using it. He could see it in his son.. It would wake up and he would be more amazing then ever. Maybe then things like this wouldn’t happen. It must have happened because until now his son had nobody to challenge his mind against. Now though he could see the fury roll around his eyes. These two might never get along. They were both smart but… Their personalities..
Where utterly different to the point that it was painful. Freyr glared at the other boy before.. “I’m going to go talk to Khizr and meet him and learn about him.” The small young golden blond finally declared before leaving the room. There was determination in those big brown eyes of his. It said he wouldn’t be satisfied until he did what he set out to do. He couldn’t understand how the doctor could think that about one of his own children, but then be so nice to himself and his older son. Freyr wasn’t related to the doctor, he didn’t know why the doctor would care so much. He had no idea that without the man he wouldn’t have the toes on his feet or fingers on his arms. His entire body and way of thinking would be different. In a way there would have never been a Freyr, only a mountain lion cub.
He nearly hopped down each step as he walked down stairs, grabbing his tiny hands on to the rail. He tried to look and feel big and strong but the steps where so large it was hard to keep balance. Well the steps where large compared to a four year olds tiny body. He knew it would be easier to crawl because of his size but he didn’t want to. A few times the boots on his feet slipped on the wooden steps, but his hands on the rail kept him from falling down steps. It took him awhile but finally he finished going down them all by himself. It made him feel proud of himself and at the bottom of the steps he puffed out his tiny chest for a second then started walking across the clean bare wood floors and over to the front door. He gave a little grin once he left out the front door, looking around the flat grasses at the front for the green haired boy from before. He was sitting in the same spot, only his dark large eyes where looking at the doorway. He still looked sad but once Freyr’s presence registered it was surprise again.
It was the boy again. The one who talked to him. The one his father tore away. Khizr watched the boy, looking around him and glanced at the doorway. Even when the blond ran over his eyes kept looking at the doorway. Would his father take the other boy away from him again? Was he so terrible that his father thought he would infect the stranger? He didn’t do anything wrong! Why didn’t his father..
But Freyr wasn’t grabbed up by anyone.
Nobody suddenly rushed up to life the tiny one away.
He had shocked Cian far too much for the old man to even go out and try to stop him.
Freyr was wearing a pair of black gloves and black boots that day. He had on a pair of blue jeans and a black t-shirt with colorful butterflies on it and a pale blue moon on it. Not a normal four year olds shirt but hell most four year olds didn’t pick out their clothes did they? His hair was long and tied in to a braid, but his bangs showed his hair true; a thick and ruffled look that a braid tended to hide away under the weaved locks. He sat down back where he had been from the start, looking up in to Khizr’s eyes like he had at the start. Khizr kept watching him. It seemed for a few moments neither said anything. It might have looked like nothing was going on but in reality their bodies and eyes spoke in loud volumes. After five or six minuets though Khizr finally responded though.
“I’m always alone. It always feels like something is wrong with me that I can’t fix.. My dad barely notices I’m breathing. I try so hard for him to see me but.. It just never feels like I reach anywhere.. There must be something different about me.”
Freyr frowned a bit, shaking his head. He didn’t agree with it. “How would anyone know if your anything if they never give you the chance? I don’t think there is anything bad about you.” None that he knew of so far anyway. So just like that their prolonged conversation started over again and this time nobody took the four year old away. He gave an innocent smile up at the older boy, “My name is Freyr, what’s yours?”
“Khizr.” The green haired boy responded. That smaller boy was so shocking. He could see it easy.. He was someone who could grab that’s that seem so different and complex, look at it, and see it for the simple thing it was. In his own mind though it felt like he made things more complicated then they were. He over thought everything. But it was true. How was there anything wrong with him when they never gave him a chance? Not a moment he could recall had his father or mother or brother given him any chances to prove he was worth a lot. That he was a good son, that he could be smart too. They just looked at his big brother and acted as if he were the only amazing child they could ever have. One day.. He would make his father see him, and do something that would make him really proud of him. Make him see him, make him realize there could be more then just one gifted child. One day.. “How did you meet my dad?”
“Oh he’s my doctor, gives me check ups and makes sure I’m healthy.” Freyr said with a grin. “My mom said he helped her and dad make me.”
That put surprise in the black eyed bigger boy. Didn’t his dad just do work at a lab? That’s all he talked about besides his brother.. He would try to ask his dad about that later. In the meantime.. “Who do you live with?”
Freyr blinked a bit with his large brown eyes himself before answering, giving a cute smile. “I live with my mom, dad, cows, chickens, mountain goats, mountain sheep, cats, wild turkey, horses, some foxes, some owls, pigs, and sometimes even mountain lions!” His smile faded a bit though after that. “But every time the old mountain lion comes and visit’s the farm it makes me feel depressed for some reason.”
Depressed over an animal? Khizr found himself confused. He liked this person but they still sounded very confusing. At least he knew the explanation for all those animals though, farms had lots of animals. Different farms had different kinds. “Why would it make you feel depressed?”
“Because.. Every time she sleeps next to me it feels like I’m missing something. It feels like I don’t really know what I am but I’m not suppose to be what I am. I keep wondering why I feel that way and why being with my parents can’t take that feeling away. It gets so confusing and I hate it because it makes me feel alone even though I’m not. I haven’t read one book that helped me find the answer. There’s no real point in learning anymore if it doesn‘t make me happy or help…”
“Freyr, wanna be friends?”
“Really? Ok! You’ll be my first friend that’s not an animal.”
“…Mine too.”
